Christian Alliance P.C. Lau International School (CAPCL), a non-profit making school wholly owned by Kowloon Tong Church of the Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance, invites applications from potential applicants (Christian is highly preferred) to fill the following position:

Preparatory / Primary (Homeroom) Teacher

Duties and Responsibilities

Preparatory / Primary (Homeroom) teachers will provide instruction in three core subjects at a single grade level including English, Social Studies, and Science as well as four of the five specialty subjects such as Art, Bible, Health, Music and Physical Education. Preparatory / Primary (Homeroom) teachers are expected to work collaboratively with colleagues in grade level teams.

Qualifications and Experience

Education and Training
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or Bachelor degree in the relevant subject areas with PGDE (Postgraduate Diploma of Education), or equivalent from an accredited university, preferably with Canadian education background
  • Minimum 10 weeks of a supervised student teaching placement completed at a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Evidence of valid certification as issued by the certificating authority in both the jurisdiction where the teacher was trained and the jurisdiction where the teacher last taught
  • Early childhood education / primary (homeroom) teacher training strongly preferred
   Experience
  • Prior experience in teaching students in a kindergarten and primary school preferred
 English Language Competency
  • Native proficiency in spoken and written English required

Effective Date of Employment

The starting date for this appointment is 15 August 2025. Initial contracts are normally 2 years in duration.
