New school campus, same Christian ethos

School Supervisor's Message

"Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs‬ 22‬:‭6) On behalf of the Kowloon Tong Church of the Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance (KTAC), I wish to welcome you to the homepage of Christian Alliance P.C. Lau Memorial International School (CAPCL). KTAC operates seventeen local and international schools in Hong Kong, and is committed to providing quality Christian education for students in Hong Kong. We firmly believe that Christian education provides a firm foundation for our children to understand the beauty of God's creation, the needs of our soul, and the purpose of our life. CAPCL was re-opened in August 2020 after a major renovation of our campus. Our mission is to develop Christ-like servant leaders who set examples in speech and behavior in love, faith and purity. We adopt the Alberta curriculum with English and Chinese as the medium of instruction and strive for engagement and personal excellence in our students’ learning journey. With a small learning community, we aim to empower our students in discovering, developing, and applying what they learn to serve others. We look forward to joining hands with you in nurturing your beloved child. May the blessing of God always be with you.

Head of School's WELCOME

Greetings to you from Christian Alliance P.C. Lau Memorial International School (CAPCL)! I trust that the content of our website is informative and useful to you, drawing your interest to get involved in our learning community. We are all learners in this community regardless of our role or responsibilities. From a Biblical perspective, learners are disciples and disciple-makers. Inspiring a desire to learn and instilling an inquisitive attitude toward learning are our goals, as they are imperative to a purposeful and fulfilling life. Education draws out the potential of each learner. As a farmer believes in the potential of a seed and works diligently for the harvest, our school learning community strives to cultivate a nurturing environment, with holistic approaches, meeting the spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of our learners.

In addition to imparting knowledge to our learners and equipping them with skills, we also emphasize their character development. Psalm 1:2-3 is the scriptural basis of our school logo which sums up our learner profile. "His delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers." It is our vision to extend God's kingdom with equipped disciples, faithful and fruitful, who grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. Our mission is to develop Christ-like servant leaders who set examples in speech and behavior, in faith, love, and purity. They are prudent in their daily choices and wise in their critical decisions. They are independent, resourceful, and grounded in Biblical principles. Their achievements are evident, and they bring fruitful blessings to the society. Let us partner together on these inward and outward journeys: from a seed to a tree bearing fruit, from bearing fruit to more fruit, and from bearing more fruit to much fruit (John 15: 1-8). God's blessings to you and your family! Warm Regards,

Dr. Cora HuiHead of School

SCHOOL LOGO & SCHOOL VERSES

Blessed is the man ... his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.Psalm 1: 2-3

Blessed is the man ... his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates dayand night. He is like a tree planted by streamsof water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.Psalm 1: 2-3

Blessings from God for those who grow in wisdom and stature, in favor with God and men are as follows:
  1. Stability: When a tree is planted by streams of water, it keeps growing even in dry and trying seasons. It neither relies on rain nor moisture from the outside. The streams of water represent the Word of God. When we have the roots of our heart and soul into God's Word, it gives us peace and courage in times of adversity and upheaval. Unshakable, the tree is an evergreen!
  2. Character: The tree bears fruit in season. The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23a). Rooted by streams of water, the tree takes in water and tastes the sweetness of the scripture. Over time, it changes our life.
  3. Delight: When we meditate on the law of the Lord day and night, it engages our mind, inclines our heart, and moves us through duty toward joy.
Psalm 1:2-3 illustrate the lifestyle and destiny of a blessed man.

Christ Ambassadors

We are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us (2 Corinthians 5:20).

Hi, we are Christ Ambassadors (CAs) of Christian Alliance P.C. Lau Memorial International School (CAPCL).
Our outfits have special meanings based on Ephesians 6: 13-17.

- Belt of truth- Breastplate of righteousness- Shoes which represent the gospel of peace- Shield of faith- Helmet of salvation- Sword of the Spirit which is the word of God

We are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us (2 Corinthians 5:20).

CAPCL Colours

CAPCL school logo is made up of four colours.  They are:
  • Light blue - CAPCL Stream
  • Light green - CAPCL Jade
  • Bright green - CAPCL Emerald
  • Cherry pink - CAPCL Bloom
Psalm 1:2-3 says, "Blessed is a person who is like a tree planted by the streams of water.  His delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law, he meditates day and night." The streams are the source of strength for the tree. Jade and Emerald are gems that are not shiny and beautiful when they are first dug out from the ground.  It takes time and effort to polish and bring out the beauty of each precious stone.  All CAPCL children are precious to their parents and us. Every learner is a gem, and we are here to help them learn and grow. To blossom is to produce flowers that develop into fruits.  Galatians 5:22-23 says, "The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."  These are the spiritual attributes we want to cultivate with our learners!

Legacy of Mrs. P.C. Lau

The late Mrs. P.C. Lau was a faithful Christian and devoted member of the Kowloon Tong Church of the Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance (KTAC). Mrs. Lau took her family to church every Sunday and was actively involved in many church ministries. Her grandchildren spoke highly of their grandmother as a woman with determination, self-discipline and loving-kindness. Above all else, Mrs. Lau was passionate for education. Not only had she supported the opening of Christian Alliance P.C. Lau Memorial International School (CAPCL) financially in 1990s, she also attended various school activities when possible. She wholeheartedly supported KTAC's vision of evangelism through education. Mrs. Lau was committed to bringing glory to God and service to society through educating the young souls, bodies and minds. Over the past two decades, hundreds of graduates from CAPCL have pursued higher education in different fields and have become contributing members in myriad sections of societies locally and globally. In 2017, the students of CAPCL moved to a new sister school located at Lai Chi Kok. CAPCL at Kowloon City was suspended in preparation for renovation. In August 2020, CAPCL re-opened as an international primary school using the Alberta curriculum. It has the capacity of serving approximately 550 preparatory to grade 6 students and their families. As the Head of School of CAPCL, I am encouraged and inspired by Mrs. Lau's legacy. Mrs. Lau lived the CAPCL mission because she was a Christ-like servant leader who set examples in speech and behavior, in love, faith, and purity. Mrs. Lau left the world a better place than when she entered. "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master" (Matthew 25:21).
